PILGRIMAGE TO WISDOM
Shake
from your sandals
the
last clotted dust
that
clings from a long desert path.
Wring
from your mantle
the
chilling mist
that
seeped through the cloud-filled night.
Hers
is the sun
in
the land beyond gold,
where
love is the measure of God.
Lift
up your voice
to
the song in her eyes
and
dance to the flute of her mirth.
Wisdom
so gay
is
the Child in her arms,
the
wealth of her poverty.
