With joyous expectation we await the hundredth anniversary of the appearances of the Blessed Virgin in Fatima, Portugal on 13th May 1917.
Three tiny shepherds herding their sheep were dumbfounded to see a beautiful Lady floating above a meter high holm oak who asked them to pray the rosary daily, make sacrifices for the conversion of sinners and to bring reparation to Our Lord Jesus Christ for the offences by which He is insulted.
The children were invited by the Lady to visit the area on the thirteenth day of every subsequent month, culminating in the 13th October meeting where a magnificent miracle of the sun was witnessed by - and attested to - by many thousands of people of various religious affiliations and persuasions.
To this day Fatima is the scene of pilgrimages totalling millions of visitors every year. The clients of the Blessed Virgin rejoice in the event of one hundred years of Marian love and devotion.
To recall the events a book has been written based on the autobiography of the shepherdess Lucia dos Santos, one of the three visionaries. Please find the book at the following link;
