FIFTH JOYFUL MYSTERY
FIFTH JOYFUL MYSTERY
[1]
It did not seem like joy:
Thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing.
There seemed no safety even in the finding:
How is it that you sought me?
His words projected further fear of loss:
I must be about my Father’s business.
[2]
But yes!
Coming one day’s journey without Him,
seeking Him at night
in confusion of flaring torches,
quick return on tired feet,
the mystifying answers –
all, all were compensated
when He went down with them
and came to Nazareth
and was subject to them
all those joyous eighteen years.
