PLAN BOOK IN MAY
The sound of tota pulchra es* these days
comes pushing in upon my mind although
it's almost year end ... and one should be so
much more aware of noun and adverb phrase
on Mary's English paper ... Yet I turn
a conscience-stricken pencil all in vain
to underlining errors while the lane
outside with blossom, thick with fern
that sing a silent, snowy song to YOU,
another MARY ... Now my classroom space
is filled with petalled antiphons, a place
where dreams instead of themes more fittingly are due!
Tomorrow I shall speak of similies ...
Thou art all fair ... and think of dogwood trees.
